Friday afternoon, Oncle René's bike has been victim of a dramatic accident. A car just went through a full line of bikes, parked on Rembrandtplein.
In the first minutes, it has been said that it was a deliberate terrorist attack against the dutch bike industry. An attempt to paralyze the ducth economy at its roots.
Anyway, later on, the police confirmed that it was actually a drunk driver who tried to make is own way through the traffic...
The lesson is: Better having a second-hand Gazelle bike parked at the end of the line, like Oncle René's one, than a thousand euros road-bike smashed at the beginning of it.
